The Bayview Bridge and a segment of Highway 42/57 in Sturgeon Bay opened to traffic early Friday morning after having been closed since March 1st. The two projects, totaling $8.2 million, included the rehabilitation of the Bayview Bridge and the reconstruction of Highway 42/57 between the bridge and Egg Harbor Road. With its opening, all marine traffic vertical height restrictions under the bridge have been removed. New roundabouts at the intersections of Highway 42/57 and Michigan Street and Egg Harbor Road are also open to vehicle, pedestrian and bicycle traffic. In addition, work was done on access modifications at the intersection of 42/57 and Alabama Street and the roadway on each side of the Bayview Bridge was resurfaced.
