Boys & Girls Club Breaks Ground on Lobby Project

A groundbreaking ceremony Tuesday marked the official beginning of the construction of a new front lobby at the Sturgeon Bay facility of the Boys and Girls Club of Door County. The lobby project was made possible by way of a generous gift from the 1923 Foundation and will be named the “Austin E. Cofrin” lobby. Cindy Follick, representing the foundation, joined the club’s board of directors for the ceremony. The building project, which is expected to be completed by year’s end, adds 956 square feet to the existing boys and girls club facility in downtown Sturgeon Bay. When finished, the entrance will provide an ADA compliant restroom, the foundation for an elevator, a community recognition wall for donors and a safe and secure entrance to the club for parents and members. The Boys and Girls Club of Door County currently serves 400 children.
