A 59-year old Door County man was rescued Tuesday afternoon after he experienced a medical problem while in a boat on the waters of Green Bay in southern Door County. The Door County Sheriff’s Department was contacted at 5:19 PM that the man was in distress in a Boston whaler on the bay in southern Door County and was attempting to make it to Sugar Creek County Park. A number of emergency units mobilized including the Brussels-Union-Gardner and Sturgeon Bay Fire Departments, Brussels and Gardner First Responders, Door County Emergency Services and the Door County Sheriff’s Department, but the man did not show up, so a search was mounted.
