You’ll see less truck traffic on a stretch of 3rd Avenue in Sturgeon Bay as a result of action taken by the city council Tuesday. The council voted to restrict the “big rigs” on 3rd Avenue for a three block area, between Michigan and Jefferson Streets. Deliveries will be allowed and signs indicating the restrictions will be erected. The reasons cited for the change include damage to the roadway, a negative impact on local merchants, and the danger to other motorists and bicyclists. The changes came in the form of a recommendation from the city’s parking and traffic committee.
