Baileys Harbor Workshop on Community Needs

The Town of Baileys Harbor hopes to secure a visit from the UW Extension design team to do a workshop on community needs in Baileys Harbor. If the town’s request is approved, a team of 20 experts in a variety of disciplines would visit the community to make an inventory, give suggestions and provide drawings and plans to execute the ideas. For a local investment of $5,000, the workshop brings an in-kind value of over $100,000. The town planning commission, the Ridges Sanctuary, the town board, and, the Door County Planning Department are already working on the project, but community help is needed. Letters of support from businesses, individuals in all walks of life, town officials and non-profits are being solicited. Donations are also requested for the extension crew during its visit to Door County. In order to bring the community up to speed on the proposal, a question and answer session has been scheduled for 6PM on June 17th at the Baileys Harbor Town Hall. Contact Brynn Swanson at 1-(920)-256-1980 by June 15th if you plan to attend.
