Arrests Made in Sturgeon Bay Stolen Vehicle Cases

The Sturgeon Bay Police Department has released an update on their efforts to solve numerous stolen vehicle cases in the city since February. It was in late April when the department announced six different stolen vehicle cases they were investigating, those thefts dated from February 7th through April 10th. Five of those 6 cases resulted in arrests. Since April, there have been 5 additional stolen vehicle reports dated from May 25th to August 11th, and 4 of those 5 cases have now yielded arrests.
The stolen vehicles primarily targeted were either Kias or Hyundais, and most of them were taken from the lots of local auto dealerships. The stolen vehicles were also damaged or severely damaged in the process.
In all 9 of those solved cases, the same 3 individuals were identified as the responsible parties, and their ages range from 15 to 18 years old. All theft charges have now been referred to the district attorney’s office and the juvenile justice system.
The Sturgeon Bay Police Department recognized Sgt. Investigator Luke Deibele, Officer Chad Mielke, Sgt. Gander, and Capt. Hougard for their months of hard work on these cases. The also thank the local community along with the Green Bay Police Department for their assistance in identifying the suspects.
