The Algoma Police Department has released information on several burglaries they are investigating, the latest of which occurred Monday night at a residence in the 200 block of North 4th Street in the city. The homeowner, who was away for the day encountered the burglar in his home. He was described as a white male, with short hair and medium length facial hair, 5’8″ and 150 pounds. His clothing was described as a white winter jacket with plaid print and blue jeans. He apparently told the homeowner that he was looking for a warm place to stay away from the cold and left the residence. The homeowner then discovered that some of his property was gone through and some coins were taken from a cup.
