Friday afternoon was the sentencing hearing for 86 year-old Richard G. Pierce in the Door County Circuit Court. This April, a jury found Pierce guilty of one count of first-degree murder from the disappearance of his wife in September of 1975. Jury Finds Pierce Guilty on Both Counts

Jury deliberations ended in the Richard Pierce case Friday afternoon as the verdict of guilty was announced on both counts, first-degree murder and disinterment of the dead, in relation to the disappearance of this wife, Carol Jean, in 1975. Sturgeon Bay Man in Court for Butch’s Fire

Last week Thursday, 57 year-old Anthony Gonzalez of Sturgeon Bay was taken into custody in regards to the early morning fire last Tuesday which gutted Butch’s Bar in downtown Sturgeon Bay.
