Vikes Win OT Thriller

Gibraltar beat Algoma in a Peninsula Conference 8-player football game, 53-50, on Friday Night in Fish Creek. The Vikings (3-0) rallied from a 28-14 halftime deficit to tie the game at 28-28 after three quarters. The Wolves (1-1) snapped a 34-34 tie when Grant Vandervest connected with Parker Lischka on a 5 yard td pass but the Vikings answered with a Brady Kita 12 yard td run to tie the game at 42-42. Algoma regained the lead when Lischka took a short Vandervest pass for a 47 yard score only to see the Vikings tie it again with :06.7 seconds as Braden Sitte had a 51 yard td run for a 50-50 tie at the end of regulation. Gibraltar would get a stop on the opening series of OT, and Sitte blasted a game winning 42 yard field goal for the win.

Sevastopol finished in 3rd place in the small school division at the Nightfall Classic at Neenah. Bea Dramm was 3rd overall, followed by Naomi Rikkola (6th) Libby Ash (22nd) Shylee Asher (29th) and Sienna Cain (36th)
