Two More 30 Pounders Registered in KD Salmon Tournament

Algoma native Mike Bathke has jumped to the top of the leaderboard of the 35th annual KD Salmon Tournament. Bathke hauled in a 30.35 pounder Thursday morning in Algoma. Another fish just over 30 pounds was weighed in by the Propsoms in Sturgeon Bay and currently puts them in 3rd place at 30.05 pounds. 13 year old Carter Bieri, of Sturgeon Bay, is in 2nd place with his 30.30 pound chinook.

Tournament organizer Kevin Naze says around 140 fish weighing 20 pounds or more have hit the scales at the tournament weigh in stations already. The 9 day tournament runs through Sunday, July 30th.
