Tigers pull away from Pioneers

Gillett scored three touchdowns in the fourth quarter as they beat Sevastopol, 51-30, in a Peninsula Conference game in Institute. The Tigers (2-0) jumped to a 21-0 lead as Jesse DeBauch threw three td passes, two to Ben Matczak and another to Brandon DeBauch. The Pioneers first score came with 3:24 to play in the half as Landon Frank turned a screen pass from Logan Schuh into an 80 yard touchdown, only to see Gillett answer with a DeBauch 1 yard sneak with :05 seconds to play in the half and a 28-8 lead. Sevastopol scored a pair of third quarter td’s as Schuh and Alex Andreae had rushing scores before the Tigers pulled away. Frank added his second score of the night, a 42 yard burst with 1:12 left in the game.
