Storm Dominates Eagles

Kewaunee snapped Southern Door’s 20 game conference winning streak as they dominated the Eagles, 41-12, on Friday Night in Brussels.  The Eagles led 6-0 at the end of the first quarter as Derik LeCaptain ripped off a 68 yard touchdown run.  But the Storm answered with three straight scoring drives as Ryan Carmichael threw a touchdown pass to Alexander Hewett, Owen Kudick added a 37 yard scoring run and a Carmichael to McCoy Walechka 42 yard scoring pass made it 20-6.  Southern Door (1-1, 2-2) closed to within 20-12 at the half as Alan Malcore recovered a fumble in the end zone.  But Kewaunee (2-0, 4-0) scored on the first play of the second half on a 70 yard run by Kudick as Carmichael threw td’s to Max Hanrahan and Wyatt Kruse to complete the scoring.  Kudick finished with 22 carries for 260 yards while Carmichael threw for 142 yards and 4 tds.  LeCaptain finished with 168 yards for Southern Door and Kyle Daoust threw for 178 yards and Max Pierre had 7 catches for 82 yards.
