Sevastopol defeated Northwood/Solon Springs 24 – 22 at the WIAA Jamboree at Steihm Stadium in Schofield on Saturday afternoon. The Evergreens snapped an 8-8 tie by returning the second half kickoff for a touchdown and a 14-8 lead but the Pioneers took a 16-14 lead on a Hunter Ebel to Max Krohn 14 yard touchdown pass with 8:22 to play in the third quarter. The Evergreens regained the lead with 6:00 to play in the 4th quarter but Sevastopol answered with a 57 yard scoring drive and took the lead for good when Ebel connected with Blake Sargent on a 23 yard scoring pass on 4th down with 2:06 to play. Ebel ran in the two point conversion for the final points of the game. Jeremy Jorns had a first half touchdown catch for the Pioneers and Ebel finished with three passing TD’s to lead the Pioneers to their first postseason win in school history.
