Leroy Returns as Clipper Football Coach

Mike Leroy has been named as the new head football coach at Sturgeon Bay High School.  It’s the second time that Leroy will lead the program as he was head coach for the Clippers from 2000-2002…

Among the challenges for Leroy will be to return excitement and enthusiasm to a program that has lost 19 consecutive games and has seen participation numbers drop to approximately 30 athletes or less out for football the past couple of seasons.  Having said that, coach Leroy thinks the Clippers fortunes could turn around quickly….

In regards to his offensive philosophy, coach Leroy says his plan is to keep it simple and to have the scheme fit the current Clippers personnel…

Leroy will take over for Greg Freiherr, who resigned following the 2014 season that saw the Clippers finish (0-9).  Sturgeon Bay’s last win was thier 2012 playoff win at Wrightstown.
