Jorns, Slezewski Qualify For State

Sturgeon Bay/Sevastopol junior Jeremy Jorns and  Southern Door freshman Griffin Slezewski have qualified for the 75th Annual WIAA State Tournament at the Kohl Center in Madison.

Jorns (44-4) defeated Andre Starynski of Lakeland (Fall 3:25) Dakota Treleven of Omro (Dec 7-2) and Sean Holk of Marinette (Dec 5-3) for the 182 pound title at Oconto Falls on Saturday.

Slezewski (32-11) defeated Kade Pinter of Kenosha Christian Life (Dec 6-4) and Parker Scholler of Random Lake (MD 12-4) before losing the title match to Kolton Tesarik of Mishicot (MD 11-3) at Dodgeland on Saturday.  Slezewski becomes just the second freshman from Southern Door to qualify for state.

Luxemburg-Casco had 8 wrestlers qualify for the State Tournament as Lucas Joniaux (41-6) Bryce Bosman (45-2) Nathan Ronsman (40-9) Colton Worachek (41-9) Devan Vandenbush (43-6) Reece Worachek (36-13) Austin Leroy (38-11) and Nate Lloyd (41-6) will all wrestle in Madison.

Kewaunee had 3 wrestlers qualify for State as Jack Severin (44-3) and Cam Hanrahan (43-4) were sectional champions and Travis Reinke (37-12) finished third.
