Clippers, Spartans Qualify for State

The Sturgeon Bay soccer team beat Oostburg, 2-1, in overtime at Kohler on Saturday afternoon to advance to the WIAA State Tournemant at Uihlein Soccer Park in Milwaukee. The Clippers’ Owen Stevenson scored both goals in the win over the Flying Dutchmen, including the eventual winner in the 109th minute. Sturgeon Bay (20-4-1) will play Northland Pines (15-3-4) in the state semi-finals on Thursday at 1:30 while top seeded The Prairie School (16-1-5) will play Lake Mills (14-8-1) in the other semi-final. It’s Sturgeon Bay’s 8th State Tournament appearance since 2010.

There is a sign-up sheet for a fan bus in the school office. The cost is $10.00 per student—the bus will be paid for by the Booser Club, the $10 is the cost of the game ticket. The fan bus is for high school students only. You are asked to sign up ASAP.

Volleyall
Luxemburg-Casco beat Xavier in the Division 2 sectional final on Saturday at Little Chute to qualify for the State Tournament for the second time in the last three years. The Spartans will play Wisconsin Lutheran at 2:00 on Friday at the Resch Center in Green Bay while it’s Bloomer vs top seeded McFarland in the other semi-final.
