Victor Yampolsky Named PMF Conductor Laureate

Christopher Ptack, CEO and President of the Peninsula Music Festival, has recently announced Russian-American conductor Victor Yampolsky has been appointed to the honorary post of “Conductor Laurete” of the festival orchestra. Yampolsky recently retired from the conductor position at the music festival after 34 years at that podium. President Ptack comments, “Maestro Yampolsky’s vision informed every step that went into building the orchestra we all enjoy today.” Yampolsky, an esteemed professor, conductor, and violinist, got his start studying and performing in Moscow, and soon went on to conduct over 80 orchestras throughout the world, including engagements in the US, Canada, Spain, New Zealand, Portugal, South Africa, Australia, South Korea, Taiwan, Chile, Israel, and the Czech Republic. Upon hearing of this recent appointment, Yampolsky commented, “I am deeply moved and honored to receive such a prestigious acknowledgement from the board and leadership of the Peninsula Music Festival. …… The general feeling of goodwill and comaraderie for those who perform at the PMF makes this entire experience a culmination of joy for the musicians and public alike.”
