This last Tuesday through Thursday, Door and Kewaunee Counties worked together with the Wisconsin National Guard to run a free COVID-19 testing site outside the Door County Justice Center. We now have some numbers from this event. On Tuesday, members of the Guard collected over 110 specimens. By Tuesday’s end they had nearly 250, and by the time the event was completed on Thursday they had over 350 specimens collected. After collecting these specimens the troops send the test kits to a lab for analysis. Then individual citizens receive their test results by phone within 3 to 7 days following the test. The Wisconsin National Guard currently has 25 teams collecting specimens across the state, and as of June 4th they have collected a cumulative total of over 101,000 specimens.
