SUV Crashes into First Impressions Salon in Sturgeon Bay

Wednesday there was an incident where an SUV crashed into Sturgeon Bay’s “First Impressions” salon in the Bay Ridge Plaza, also known as the Phil-Mart. It was at 8:00 AM when a 51 year-old Sturgeon Bay woman was pulling into a parking spot directly in front of the salon for her hair appointment. She was trying to stop, but her Ford Edge went up over the curb and crashed into the front window of the business. At that time, a 40 year-old Casco female employee was sitting at the welcome desk inside. She later stated that she heard the crash and then felt shards of glass in her face. On the scene, she was looked over by EMS personnel and had minor scratches from the glass but received no further medical attention. The Sturgeon Bay woman driving the SUV reported no apparent injury. She also mentioned a recall her vehicle was recently repaired for. No citations were given.
