Like many agencies of its kind, the Sturgeon Bay Fire Department is having to comply with state requirements on a regular basis. One area where a pressure point has reached is that of inspections. Fire Chief Tim Dietman says in order to continue taking advantage of a funding source, follow up inspections are required, something that is taxing current resources. Dietman, in the department’s annual report for 2018, indicated that the creation of a new position, that of Division Chief of Fire Prevention and Public Education, could help.
