The top 50 anglers in the Bassmaster Elite series begin the angler of the year championships today in Sturgeon Bay. Pam Seiler, Executive Director of the Sturgeon Bay Visitor Center, says that this is a huge event for the city as they showcase Sturgeon Bay and Door County…..
Bassmaster says the Direct economic impact of this event is estimated at over $1.8 million and the total economic and media impact (ESPN) is over $3.4 million. Big crowds are expected throughout the event and Seiler says that they have plans in place that provide parking and transportation to the festival grounds…..
The event and tournament operations, including the stage, starting rolling into Sturgeon Bay on Tuesday. The Berkley 40′ demo fish tank and BASS owned jumbotron arrived yesterday. Seiler says it’s been interesting to see the area grow….
All 50 Fishermen will launch from Sawyer Park in Sturgeon Bay while weigh-ins and all other sponsor activities will be at Center Pointe Marina….
Weigh-ins are scheduled to begin at 3:15 today, tomorrow and Sunday and all activities planned throughout the weekend are free and open to the public.
