Mark Schwartz retires from DC Sheriff’s Office

For Mark Schwartz, this last Monday was his final day with the Door County Sheriff’s Office before retiring. Mark began his career with the Sheriff’s Office in March of 1992 when he was hired by Sheriff Charles Brann as a jail dispatcher. He soon moved on to patrol, where he served as a field training officer, mentoring and sharing his knowledge with new deputies. Schwartz was also a hovercraft operator and laid the foundation for the current Marine Patrol Unit. He was also on the Swat team and served as a sniper for a number of years. He never shied away from high-risk calls or search warrants. He later moved to the position of court security transport deputy, where he greeted visitors to the Justice Center, ensuring their safety and the staff’s in the county court system. During his over 28 years with the Sheriff’s Office he served under four sheriffs. We here at WDOR would like to thank Mark for his years of service and wish him much happiness and enjoyment in retirement.
