Chief Deputy McCarty comments how Deputy Fuerst will surely be missed….
After the ceremony and services concluded, there was a 2nd smaller procession of the family and hearse which proceeded through Sturgeon Bay and past the Justice Center so everyone from the Sheriff’s Office could give Deputy Fuerst one final salute. Fuerst, who was only 55, had been with the department for nearly 30 years and made a substantial impact on his department and the community.
