Housefire Wednesday Between Carlsville & Egg Harbor

There was a housefire in the Town of Egg Harbor early Wednesday afternoon. A fire call was made at 12:30PM by a WPS worker who noticed smoke coming from a 2-story home on the west side of Highway 42 just north of Sunnyslope Road. Egg Harbor Fire Chief Justin MacDonald reports his department sent 5 trucks and 9 firefighters to the scene while auto-aid was requested from all mainland northern Door County fire departments and from Sturgeon Bay. The Door County Sheriff’s Department conducted traffic control and Door County EMS were also on scene. Fire Chief MacDonald says when his department arrived there was smoke coming from a 2nd-story window…

The homeowner was not there, and his daughter that currently resides in the home was at work in Green Bay during that time. Fire Chief MacDonald reports there was substantial damage to the second story, and the home is now uninhabitable…

There were no injuries in the response, and all vehicles were able to clear the scene just before 5:00 pm.
