Fire Late Wednesday Night in Ephraim

There was a house fire late Wednesday night in north Ephraim. The call came in at 11:55PM from a home on the north side of Shannon Square Court, just off Highway 42. The response included 26 firefighters from every mainland fire department from Sturgeon Bay north, the Door County Sheriff’s Office, Wisconsin Public Service, &, Door County EMS. Firefighters used approximately 22,000 gallons of water and 10 gallons of foam to extinguish the blaze, and the cause of the fire remains under investigation. Fire Chief MacDonald explains the occupancy of the home and how they put up a fill site nearby…

The 2 occupants and their pet cat were safely evacuated. Fire Chief MacDonald approximated the damage to be at about $200,000. All responders were able to clear the scene by 4AM Thursday.
