Door-Tran Receives Grant from Door County Emergency Response Fund

The Door County Emergency Response Fund has recently awarded a grant to Door-Tran to help coordinate contactless nutritional deliveries and to help supply free rides to COVID-19 vaccinations for those who are eligible. Door-Tran has already been providing transport to their clients for nutritional deliveries including the Farmers to Families food boxes and the YMCA Weekend Food Program. This grant allows them the opportunity to do so for more eligible individuals. Feed My People and Lakeshore CAP now also know to contact Door-Tran if they know of a client in need of transportation to a food pantry or contactless delivery of groceries. Door-Tran can now also offer rides to COVID-19 vaccinations free-of-charge to people who may not have any other way to get there. Their information and referral phone line is always available to help clients navigate their options. Door-Tran may supply this transportation by using volunteers, hiring a private taxi, or through Door County Connect & Door-2-Door Rides. This grant from the Emergency Response Fund will allow clients to obtain these services at no charge. It also helps prepare Door-Tran to support transportation services during any type of emergency, such as a natural disaster, long-term power outages, or similar emergencies.
