A brush fire that got out of hand kept firefighters busy in the Town of Baileys Harbor Saturday afternoon. About 1000 gallons of water was needed to put out the blaze that blackened close to four acres at 8770 West Meadow Road. Fire crews from the Baileys Harbor Fire Department were paged out during the noon hour and Northern Door mutual aid was activated. The grass and brush were apparently ignited by embers from a pile of wood scraps that were being burned. Windy conditions also played a role in the blaze. Firefighters cleared the scene at about 2PM. A citation was issued for burning without a permit.
