Algoma Mayor Wayne Schmidt has released a statement late Sunday morning that the Algoma Marina is now open. All operations for launching and docking are back to normal. Any questions or concerns, please contact Algoma City Hall at (920) 487-5203.
The Algoma Fire Department was dispatched to the report of a fire at the Algoma Marina just before midnight Wednesday. Fire crews quickly determined that five boats on two separate docks were involved. Three boats sunk as a result of the fire damage. No injuries were reported. The Kewaunee Fire Department also responded.
The fire remains under investigation by the Algoma Fire Department and the US Coast Guard.
