Sheriff Tammy Sternard recently welcomed 4 new deputies to the Door County Sheriff’s Office. The 4 deputies were sworn in Wednesday, bringing their services to our area from all different parts of Wisconsin. Two of them are now working the jail. Bobbi Gilson is now the Jail Seargeant following Cary Jeanquart’s retirement and Jeremy Karnitz is filling an open part-time jail position. Deputy Elizabeth Williams filled a patrol position which was opened after Sheriff Sternard created the Mental Health Community Engagement Deputy position. And Deputy Andrew Janikowski was hired to fill the position after the passing of Deputy Timothy Fuerst. All 4 new deputies are now involved with a rigorous training program before being released to their new positions.
