Two people were injured Wednesday night, when the boat they were in struck the stone barrier just north of the Kewaunee Lighthouse. Responding to the scene were the Kewaunee County Sheriff’s Department, Kewaunee City Police, Kewaunee Rescue, Kewaunee Fire, the US Coast Guard, & the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources. The driver of the boat was a 58 year old man from Mansheim, Minnesota. The four occupants were transported safely to shore, and one of the two injured parties was transported to a Green Bay medical facility with non-life threatening injuries.
The boat will remain on the rocks until the owner arranges removal at a later date.
The incident remains under investigation.
