The Algoma softball team beat Kewaunee 3-2 on Monday at Peterson Park for the 6th consecutive WIAA regional championship. Jordan Demmin struck out nine for the game and pitched out of a bases loaded, one out jam in the 7th for the win. The Wolves scored single runs in the 1st, 3rd and 6th innings to take a 3-0 lead. Andie Vandertie had a pair of RBI singles and Carmen Haack had an RBI single before leaving with an injury. The Storm scored two runs in the top of the 7th inning on RBI singles from Kelsey Miller and Taylor Miller but their late inning rally fell short. Demmin, Vandertie, Mikayla Haack and Linsey Pierre all had two hits for the Wolves while Rachel Dax singled twice for the Storm. Algoma will play Chilton at 5:00 in New Holstein on Tuesday.
