Algoma beat Oconto 6-2 in a Packerland Conference softball game at Pederson Park on Tuesday. The Blue Devils opened the scoring in the first inning as Jaelyn Jicha scored after a leadoff triple. The Wolves answered with six runs in the home half of the 2nd inning. Carmen Haack started the rally with a one out single and tied the game when she later scored. Jordan Demmin added a bases loaded walk and Baleigh Delorit and Meg Ryan had 2 RBI singles as the lead grew to 6-1. Demmin allowed only 2 runs while allowing 10 Oconto hits. Jicha, Kailey Trudeau and Amber Westphal had 2 hits each. The Wolves started the season (0-2) in league play but finished with 11 straight conference wins. The Blue Devils, who wrapped up the outright championship on Monday, finished (13-1) in league play.
