Wolves Lose Heartbreaker to Lourdes

The Algoma girls basketball team had their season come to and end on Thursday night with a 45-43 loss to Oshkosh Lourdes in a WIAA Division 4 Sectional Semi-final played at Seymour.  The Wolves (23-2) trailed 41-28 early in the fourth quarter before taking a a 43-41 lead on the strength of a 15-0 run.  But the Knights (24-1) took the lead for good with 1:39 to play when Lexy Peterman hit her sixth three pointer of the game.  Peterman finsihed with a game high 28 points while Teenie Lichtfuss added 10.  Algoma was led by Lindsey Kirchman with 12 points.  Lourdes will play Edgar at Waupaca on Saturday with the winner advancing to the State Tournament.
