The 12th ranked Wisconsin Badgers hung on late to beat Northern Iowa in their season opener Saturday 26 – 21. Wisconsin led 19 – 0 until late in the 3rd quarter when Northern Iowa went on a 21 – 7 run. It took a batted ball on 4th & 1 with just over 3 minutes to play to seal the victory for Wisconsin. Montee Ball rushed 32 times for 120 yards & a touchdown, Jared Abbrederis had 6 receptions for 84 yards & 2 touchdowns & new quarterback Danny O’Brien was an efficient 19 – 23 for 219 yards.
