Mother Nature cut Sunday’s Door County League schedule in half as games at Institute and Kolberg were postponed. West Jacksonport won on the Island and Egg harbor beat Maplewood at home. Here are the details on Sunday’s abbreviated DCL action:
West Jacksonport beat Washington Island, 2-0. Riley Cordier turned in a solid performance as he tossed a complete game, two-hit shutout. Cordier (3-0) took a perfect game into the seventh. Jason Lindemann had three hits to lead the Ports while David Van Dreese added two. Ben Johnson had a double for the Islanders. Matt Foss (3-2) went eight innings and took the loss.
Egg Harbor beat Maplewood, 4-1. Egg Harbor scored once in the first, added two more runs in the fifth and led 4-0 after a run in the sixth. Matt Ash had three hits in the win while Cody Giesseman added two. Dave Jilot (2-2) pitched the first six innings for the win with Riley Spetz working the final three for the save. Chad Laluzerene and Tyler Wagner each had two hits for the Mets. Kyle Ploor (2-3) went the first six and took the loss.
