The Southern Door softball team took sole possession of first place after a 4-0 win over Algoma at Peterson Park on Tuesday. Winning pitcher Lexy Wery fired a three hit shutout as the Eagles blanked the Wolves for the second time. Southern Door scored their first run in the the third inning on a Teyha Bertrand RBI double, added two runs in the 6th as Melanie Watters and Jackie Atkins had RBI hits and finished the scoring when Kendra Dantoin hit an RBI single in the 7th. Bertrand led the Eagles with 3 hits while Atkins and Dantoin had two hits each. Maddie Prokash had two hits to lead the Wolves.
