The Sturgeon Bay 11 year old All-Star team has gone (2-1) at the State Tournament in Dodgeville this weekend. In game 1 on Saturday, Sturgeon Bay rallied from a 7-1 deficit to earn an 8-7 victory over Neenah. Mitchell Jackson picked up the win in relief and he added 3 hits. Ryan Jacobson had 2 hits while Trent Ehlers hit a home run and Max Bordeau tripled. In game 2, on Saturday, Sturgeon Bay beat Escanaba 7-3 with Ehlers getting the win and Jacobson and Trevor Reinhardt tripled. On Sunday, Sturgeon Bay lost to the Menasha Surburban Athletics 13-4. Jacobson had 3 hits while Tanner DeGrave, Nathan Stenzil and Reece Nellis had 2 hits. They will play an elimination game on Monday.
In Marinette, the 12’s were eliminated with a (1-2) record. They won their first game over Stevens Point in extra innings on Saturday on Trevor Jacobson’s walk off hit. Jared Van Bramer had 3 hits (home run) and Rex Meikle and Hunter Ebel also had 3 hits and Jacobson added 2 hits. Escanaba beat Sturgeon Bay 11-0 on Saturday and DC Everest beat Sturgeon Bay on Sunday 4-2. Jared Reinhardt had 2 hits.
In Janesville, the 10’s beat Middleton 13-3 on Saturday. Griffin Reinhard, Josh Pfleiger, Ethan Kroll, Josh Schneider and Seth Merline all had two hits. The Green Bay Sluggers beat Sturgeon Bay 10-0 on Sunday with Pfleiger leading the way with 2 hits. They will play an elimination game on Monday.
The 9 year olds lost two games in Neenah with Marcus Reinhardt and Spencer Krause each winning player of the game awards from the opposing coaches.
