Sister Bay rebounded after last week’s loss with a win while three teams stayed perfect in the Door County League as Kolberg, Egg Harbor and West Jacksonport all won. Here’s the week three roundup:
Sister Bay beat Baileys Harbor, 13-0. Ryan Demmin (2-1) threw his second DCL no-hitter, striking out 15 while walking two. Demmin also had two hits, as Sister Bay (2-1) had eight total players collect base hits in the win. Amadee Savard (0-1) pitched into the sixth and took the loss for Baileys Harbor (0-3).
On AM 910 WDOR and wdor.com, West Jacksonport beat Maplewood, 10-5. West Jacksonport (3-0) scored four runs in the third and led 9-2 after six innings. Sawyer Johnson had two hits and drove in four runs for the Ports. Drew Tanck, Andy Schartner and Jason Lindemann all had two hits. Tanck (2-0) went the first eight for the win. Chad Laluzerne and Sam Koss had two hits for Maplewood (0-3). Kyle Ploor (0-3) took the loss.
Kolberg beat Institute, 11-0. Kolberg (3-0) scored three runs in the third, five in the sixth and their final three runs in the seventh. Mitchel Neubauer had three hits in the win while Riley Cordier and David Van Dreese each added two. Van Dreese (2-0) picked up the win as he allowed one hit in seven innings. Kyle Volkmann (1-2) took the loss for the Cubs (1-2).
Egg Harbor beat Washington Island, 4-2. Riley Spetz and Joe Sawyer each had two hits to lead Egg Harbor (3-0). Dave Jilot (2-0) pitched the first six innings for the win. Craig Gunnlaugsson homered for Washington Island (0-3). Wil Henriksen (0-1) took the loss.
