Sister Bay stays unbeaten in the Door County League while Washington Island remains a game back and Egg harbor and Baileys Harbor picked up wins as well. Here is the week six DCL recap:
Sister Bay beat Institute, 19-3. Sister Bay pounded out 20 hits with Sam Forkert collecting four. Forkert drove in three runs while Tom Sawyer, Dusty Johnson, Tucker Emerson and Bubba Laughlin all had three. Laughlin hit a home run and picked up the win in relief. Kyle Volkman had two hits for Institute. John Baudhuin took the loss.
Baileys Harbor beat Kolberg, 6-1. Austin Rohe’s two-run homer in the third gave Baileys Harbor a lead they would not surrender. Winning pitcher Daniel Case had three hits and Derek Niedzwiecki doubled. Rob Ray had three hits for Kolberg. Ernie Erickson took the loss.
Washington Island won at West Jacksonport, 10-2. Down two, the Islanders scored three times in the third and four runs in the fourth. Ben Geiger had three hits and drove in four runs. Luke Geiger had three hits and was on base five times. Matt Foss picked up the win with Christian Foss earning the save. Riley Cordier took the loss for West Jacksonport, who got two hits from Drew Tanck and Griffen Cole.
Egg Harbor shutout Maplewood, 4-nothing. Al Byrne and Riley Spetz combined on a three hit shutout. Byrne pitched the first six for the win with Spetz finishing for the save. Spetz had three hits including a home run. Eric DeJardine also had three hits. Nick Brauer took the loss.
