Egg Harbor made sure that Sister Bay would not not go undefeated for a second straight season and Kolberg, West Jacksonport and Institute all picked up wins on Sunday as well. Here are the week two details:
On AM 910 WDOR and wdor.com, Kolberg beat Washington Island, 12-3. Kolberg (2-0) scored five runs in the first and led 7-0 before Washington Island got on the board. David Van Dreese (3 RBI) had three hits, including a pair of doubles. Mitchel Neubauer, Jeff Sperber and Eric Lardinois all added two hits. Van Dreese (1-0) picked up the win in relief. Caleb Cornell and Matt Foss both had three hits to lead Washington Island (0-2). Christian Foss (0-2) took the loss.
Egg Harbor beat Sister Bay, 4-1. Egg Harbor (2-0) scored three runs in the first. Nick Kita, Cody Giesseman, Eric DeJardin and Matt Ash all had two hits in the win. Winning pitcher David Jilot (2-0) went the first six with Riley Spetz earning a three inning save. Ryan Demmin (1-1) took his first loss in the DCL and it is the first loss for Sister Bay (1-1) since 2014. Dusty Johnson had two hits to lead Sister Bay.
Institute beat Maplewood, 7-3. Institute (1-1) scored four times in the first. Kyle Volkmann (1-1) pitched eight innings for the win. Kyle Ploor (0-2) took the loss for Maplewood (0-2). Six different players on each team collected one hit.
West Jacksonport beat Baileys Harbor, 14-6. Alec Schartner homered for West Jacksonport (2-0). Schartner and Jason Lindemann both ahd three hits. Drew Tanck (1-0) picked up the win. Ben Schnell had two hits for Baileys Harbor (0-2). Aaron Geitner (0-1) took the loss.
