Weather Affects More Games

Most of the high school baseball and softball games played on Thursday were stopped early because of the weather.

Softball
Peshtigo opened the season with a 5-1 win over Sevastopol at Institute. The Pioneers scored a run in the first inning when Jolene Luedtke hit an RBI single that scored Bailey Rikkola. The Bulldogs scored 3 runs in the third inning and added single runs in the 5th and 6th innings to put the game out of reach. Bethany Ahrens struck out 13 batters and scored two runs to lead Peshtigo while Luedtke had 2 hits for the Pioneers. The game was stopped by weather in the top of the 7th inning.
