Valders beat Southern Door, 64-50, in a WIAA Division 3 sectional semi-final at Ashwaubenon on Thursday Night. The Eagles (20-5) had an early 5-2 lead but the Vikings went on a 17-1 run and led 19-6 eight minutes into the game. After Southern Door had closed to within 19-13, Valders would finish the half on a 14-0 run and took a 33-13 lead into halftime. The Vikings made 7 three pointers in the first half and finished the game with 11 made three pointers. Treyner Sundsmo and Kyle Tuma scored 20 each for Valders and Jake Beimborn added 13. Kyle Daoust finished with 17 for the Eagles and Ryan Claflin added 12. It’s the third straight year that Southern Door has been knocked out of the playoffs by Valders.
