Vikings Advance on Bauldry Game Winner

Gibraltar beat Brillion, 51-50, in a WIAA Division 4 regional opener at Gibraltar High School in Fish Creek on Tuesday Night.  The Vikings (16-7) saw a 49-43 lead with 4:16 to play evaporate as they committed turnovers on five straight possessions down the stretch.  Brillion took a 50-49 lead on a basket by Ariel Heraly with :16 seconds to play but Gibraltar answered right back on a basket in the post by senior Aleah Bauldry with 4.6 seconds to play.  The Lions (5-18) had one last chance in the final seconds but Ida Whitney blocked two shots underneath the Brillion basket to secure the Gibraltar win.  Bauldry finished with a game high 22 points for Gibraltar while Carly Geske had 15 and Sara Braun added 14 for Brillion.  The Vikings will play at third seeded Amherst (17-5) on Friday Night.
