The Gibraltar girls basketball team open the WIAA Division 5 regional tournament with a 58-38 win over Suring in Fish Creek on Tuesday. The Vikings (14-9) opened up a double digit lead in the first half on the strength of a 10-0 run and never looked back. Maggie Maroney and Sage Krause finished with 13 points each and Sophia Alexander added 12 for Gibraltar while Kate Mahoney led the Eagles (7-16) with 15 points. Gibraltar will continue tournament play at Gillett on Friday (WDOR).
