Southern Door rallied from a 3-1 fourth inning deficit to beat Luxemburg-Casco, 6-3, in a WIAA Division 2 sectional semi-final softball game in Luxemburg on Tuesday. The Eagles took the early led on a RBI single by Hannah Mallien in the first inning but the Spartans scored three runs on three hits in the top of the fourth inning to take a 3-1 lead as Jenna Jorgenson and Macki Junio had RBI singles. Southern Door tied the game in the bottom of the fourth inning on an error and a steal of home by Erica Griep on a pickle play. The Eagles would take the lead for good in the bottom of the fifth inning on a two out RBI single by Grace LeGrave and would add to the lead as Mallien scored on a wild pitch and an RBI single from Lexi Wery. Mallien allowed three runs on four hits in six innings of relief for the win while LeGrave had three hits and scored two runs. Southern Door will play New London at Little Chute on Thursday (WDOR) (4:00) with the winner advancing to the State Tournament in Madison.
