Ahnapee beat Northern Door, 7-1, in an American Legion baseball game played at the Sevastopol Town Park in Institute on Thursday Night. The Trailblazers scored all their runs after two were out and winning pitcher Tory Jandrin had a no hitter into the sixth innning. Ahnapee extended a 1-0 lead in the 4th inning as Austin Lardinois hit an RBI double that scored Mitchel Neubauer and Zach Marchant followed with a 2 run home run to left field. Lardinois added a bases clearing double in the 7th and finished with 3 hits (2 doubles) and 4 RBI’s. Austen Dart also singled and doubled for Ahnapee. For Northern Door, Joe Burlo broke up the no hit bid with a two out single in the sixth and Connor Brennan drove in the Chiefs only run in the 7th inning. The Trailblazers have won 7 of their last 8 games while the Chiefs had their 3 game winning streak snapped.
Ahnapee will play East Troy, Minnetonka, Minocqua and Antigo at the Antigo Tournament this weekend while Northern Door has a doubleheader at Valders on Saturday.
