The Ahnapee American Legion baseball team had their season come to an end at the AA regional in Luxemburg as they lost to Pulaski Friday, 4-3. Trailing 3-2 heading to the bottom of the seventh, Pulaski scored twice to eliminate the Trailblazers. After a ground out, Pulaski drew consecutive walks and then a single by Ryan Ruechel tied the game. Following an infield pop out, Pulaski drew a walk to load the bases and then with two outs an error allowed the game winning run to score. Ahnapee scored twice in the first as Anthony Moore and Ryan Jacobson singled to start the frame and both eventually came around to score. Pulaski tied the game with two in the third before Jared Van Bramer doubled in the fifth inning and scored on an error on a ground ball by Andrew Carbajal. Moore and Van Bramer each had two hits and Jake Schneider added a single for Ahnapee’s five hits in the contest.
Friday at Luxemburg:
Kewaunee County beat Ashwaubenon, 2-0
Pulaski beat Ashwaubenon, 4-3 in 8 innings (Ashwaubenon eliminated)
Saturday at Luxemburg:
Kewaunee County beat Pulaski, 2-0
Kewaunee County wins the regional and advances to the AA State Legion Tournament in Merrill. They will take on Waterford at 4 PM Wednesday.
