Trailblazers Home Opener Tonight

Ahnapee Legion will host Northern Door in a Fox River Valley East Division game tonight at Memorial Field.  Our coverage begins at 7:50 with the Jorns Chevrolet of Kewaunee pregame show on 93,9FM / wdor.com

The Trailblazers are on a four game winning streak after a 7-5 win in eight innings at Wrightstown on Saturday.  Ahnapee took the lead for good in the 8th as Beau Schartner doubled to lead off the winning and eventually scored on an Austen Dart RBI single.  Dart finished with 3 hits while Austin Lardinois, Austin Rohe and Trevor Hawkey all had 2 hits each.  Kordell Draves picked up the win in relief of Casey Stangel.

The Chiefs won their first game of the season on Saturday.  After losing to Freedom 25-1, Northern Door beat Wrightstown 15-4 in 6 innings.  Joe Burlo and Jared Reinhardt had 3 hits each while Quinn Schram, Brad Prust and Jimmy McInerney had 2 hits.  McInerney and Jared Pfleiger had 3 RBI’s.  Will Hartmann had 2 hits in the loss to Freedom.

Door County swept a doubleheader from the Elite Group on Sunday Night at Memorial Field.  The Bays rallied from a 4-0 deficit in the opener and won 8-4 in 8 innings and took the nightcap 2-0.  Drew Tanck got the win in relief in game 1 and started game 2 and totaled 14 strikeouts.  Tanck, Jared Lindemann and Riley Cordier combined on a no-hitter in game 2.  Jared Pfleiger and Lindemann sparked in the rally in the opener and a Cordier RBI single gave the Bays the lead in game 2.  Door County is now (5-1) in the league and will play at Green Isle Park on Tuesday Night.
