Ahnapee beat Northern Door 6-5 in an American Legion baseball game at Memorial Field on Monday Night. The Trailblazers took the lead in the 3rd inning on a Trevor Hawkey RBI single that scored Austen Dart and the lead grew to 5-0 after a Mitchel Neubauer bases clearing double in the fourth. The Chiefs made it 5-2 in the top of the 5th inning as Jared Pfleiger hit an RBI double and Casey Wedig added an RBI ground out. Ahnapee added what proved to be a much needed insurance run as Neubauer launched a a solo home run in the 6th inning to make it 6-2 because Northern Door scored three runs in the top of the 7th inning on a Pfleiger RBI single an a couple of errors. Alex Ploor (4.1IP) and Austin Rohe (2.2IP) pitched for Ahnapee as the Trailblazers pushed their winning streak to five in a row. Ernie Erickson (4IP) and Quin Schram (2IP) pitched for the Chiefs and Connor Brennan had 3 hits.
