Trailblazers (2-2) at Regional

Ahnapee lost to Ashwaubenon, 4-1, and were eliminated from the AA American Legion Baseball Regional at Klipstine Park on Sunday. The A’s scored 4 runs in the bottom of the first inning as Andrew Pluteman and Jonathon Jeske hit home runs and the Trailblazers could never get on track offensively. Ahnapee left the bases loaded in the second inning, stranded two in the 4th and 6th and hit into a double play in the 7th after having two on and nobody out. Christian Counard threw five scoreless/hitless innings of relief and Devin Schinktgen had two hits for Ahnapee (12-8).

Saturday
Ahnapee lost to Ashwaubenon, 5-3, on Saturday afternoon. The Trailblazers took a 3-2 lead in the bottom of the 6th on a Charlie Neinas RBI single but the A’s won it as Mack Crawley hit a three run home run and struck out 11 for the win. Spencer Krause hit a solo home run and Jack Peterson had an RBI single.

The Trailblazers avoided elimination with a 5-3 win over Kewaunee County as Tyler Neinas allowed two runs over the first six innings. Ahnapee snapped a two all tie when Charlie Neinas drove in Peterson for the lead before Jaden Diller hit a 2-run double in the 6th. The Lakers threatened in the 7th when Peyton Kohnle drove in a run, but with Charlie Neinas on the mound, Owen Deprez lined into a game ending double play. Peterson had three hits, Luke Steebs scored three runs and Counard doubled for Ahnapee.

Friday
Ahnapee beat KC 7-6 in extra innings as the Trailblazers built a 6-1 lead when Charlie Neinas hit a third inning grand slam. But the Lakers scored two in the sixth as Cal Ihlenfeldt and Caleb Schaller drove in runs and then tied it in the 7th on a Blake Robillard RBI single. The Trailblazers plated the winning run in the top of the 8th inning as Counard led off with a single, stole second and third base and scored on a Will Jandrin RBI groundout. Carson Leist pitched the first six innings for Ahnapee.
